All five major undersea cables in Vietnam have been repaired, with new cables soon to be put into operation

Recently, the repair work of five damaged undersea cables in Vietnam has been successfully completed, and the international network connection was fully restored at the end of November, and this provides an important guarantee for the stable operation of Vietnam Dedicated Server.

It is reported that the faults in the TGN-IA, SMW3, and APG undersea cable systems were eliminated at the end of May and September this year. Among them, the repair of SMW3 restored Vietnam’s connection with 33 countries in Asia, Australia, Africa, and Europe.

The AAG undersea cable was also repaired in early November. The cable, which is 20,000 kilometers long, extends to Hong Kong, Singapore, the Philippines, Thailand, Brunei, Malaysia, Guam, Hawaii, and the west coast of the United States. The AAE-1 undersea cable, which connects Southeast Asia, Egypt, and Europe, resumed operation at the end of November.

By the end of this year, Vietnam will also put into operation two new undersea fiber optic cables – the ADC undersea cable and the SJC 2 undersea cable.

The ADC undersea cable is 9,400 kilometers long, passing through Batangas in the Philippines, Tuas in Singapore, Chong Hom Kok in Hong Kong, Shantou in Guangdong, China, Maruyama in Japan, Quy Nhon in Vietnam, and Sriracha in Thailand. It uses multiple pairs of high-capacity fibers, capable of transmitting more than 140 Tbps of traffic, and is a cable capable of high-capacity data transmission.

The SJC2 undersea cable is 10,500 kilometers long, connecting to 9 countries and regions including Singapore, Cambodia, Hong Kong, mainland China, and Japan.

According to the Vietnam Telecommunications Authority, it is expected that by 2030, Vietnam will have 4 to 6 new undersea fiber optic cables to meet the growing network demand.
